Misery Signals: I wish they played more of their old stuff, but they still rock pretty hard.

August Burns Red: They are still my favorite! They were the most intense and energetic on stage. They also sounded the cleanest...

As I Lay Dying: Still very solid, but too productionized now. So many blinking lights and crap. I also wish the played more from their first album...

MySQL Underwear!!

I went to the MySQL Conference 2008 from April 15-17 this week. Some of it was actually pretty interesting, and relevant to what I do. However, the days were freakin' long... They started at 8:30 AM and went through to 6:00 PM, and technically to 10:30 PM, but I didn't stay that late. It was basically talks after talks after talks, very similar to school and class, so it was really, really hard for me to stay awake... It was interesting to hear about how other people use MySQL, and how we use it in a much larger scale than everyone else... =) My tech lead gave a talk about our performance improvements and it was PACKED, and he basically showed how our version beat out everyone else in terms of concurrent load on multi-core systems. TONS of people were interested in our code. =) I also got to talk with some of the leads of MySQL, and might be talking with them again in Seattle. Facebook even wanted to talk to me about certain architecture issues, so that was interesting... =)

AND, I got MySQL boxers from the conference!! =)

Unfortunately, I couldn't do ANY work during the week, so I might have to do crap over the weekend... =/

POO

1) Find a Jess who left the computer, but still signed into Gmail.
2) Create label "POO".
3) Create filter to find all messages that "has the words" of her email address.
4) Make filter star the messages and apply the label "POO".
5) Change all the colors of existing labels.
6) Change the color of the "POO" label to diarrhea brown.
7) Record when she checks her email again... =)

Go Capitals!!

The Washington Capitals got into the playoffs! =) The Caps have been pretty bad the past couple of years so it's pretty cool that they turned this season around to make the playoffs. The crazy thing is that they also won their division, so they actually have a good seed! Alexander Ovechkin also won the regular season goal scoring title and the points title!!
