I can't believe Norma Jean played that song!! I guess this post is a bit late, but the hardcore show was freakin awesome! A Life Once Lost was ok, but not a lot of people were there yet, so there wasn't too much energy. That's a shame, because I actually like them. Madball was pretty cool, and they put on a good show. Norma Jean was awesome!! They actually played some old songs which they didn't the last time I saw them. As I Lay Dying was even better!! I'm not surprised that they are getting big and popular. They know how to put on a show! In the middle of one of the songs, they all left and the drummer did a very impressive 2 minute drum solo, which included a lot of double bass... =) I think my friends enjoyed themselves... Hopefully?? Gerran actually went into the pit and really liked it!! He might actually go to some shows with me, which is good, because he has a car, hehehe... =) Will got to do his dance (and got a shirt), a crazy/drunk/high guy threw a drink at Kenny (sorry...), Grace had a little trouble seeing (I tried to help), Chinsan actually recognized some of the songs, and John got to test out his army grade ear plugs. =) Ahhh, it was a good show.

Break is good. =) TV is nice, being lazy is nice, and the Redskins could make the playoffs... =) Now, it's time for me to get unfat.

(Real) End of Quarter

Woohoo!! I had my last final today, and it was easier than I expected. Had lots of sushi, some champagne, and went to Dave & Busters. A posi day, I must say... =) I fly home on Monday, for weeks of laziness and tv! Man, when I get my own place after I graduate, I am definitely getting tv and cable...

End of 1st Quarter

Woohoo!!! It's almost the end of the quarter!! Last week was pretty rough since we had a computer architecture project due. The assignment wasn't too hard, but completing it was. This was because the project was to optimize sorting 5 GB of data, on 4 processors, in 2 machines. There were only 12 total of these machines, so only 6 groups could run at once at any given time. So groups had to submit jobs to a queue to run on the actual machines. Since sorting 5 GB is pretty hard, each program runs at least 6 minutes, and that's only when they work. If they don't work, the system cuts you off after 45 minutes. Because of all these conditions, it took like 3-4 hours to run 1 job after submitting it. This makes it pretty hard to debug anything... =/ Also, if the disks were full on the executing machines, you got no output results, so it was entirely possible to submit a job, wait your 4 hours, and get no feedback... Wow, that was an annoying project but we got it done so it's all good. It was kinda funny, I was in the lab at around 2am, and after the last case ran, and succeeded, I stood up and yelled really loud a couple of times. =)

On Saturday, we had our playoff game for IM football. We played a really good team, whose members were all huge, and fast. We lost of course, but we DID score on this amazing drive! We usually have a couple plays we try to run, but none of them were working. So the start of the second half, we just did the "get open play". =) Also, I stopped running north-south, since I couldn't really get too many yards. For every play, I basically scrambled behind the line of scrimmage for a good 15 seconds, and then find the open guy and throw to him. It worked pretty well, since everytime I cut, I could buy some time to find people. Also, Gerran would protect me by blocking rushers, so I would just cut towards him, and try to keep him between me and the rushers. I could tell I was frustrating the other team. It didn't really matter, since they were just better than us, but it still felt good to be able to score on them. It was a good end to my last season of IM football, unless I do B-school... =)

Now, I gotta study for my architecture final on Monday, and then my text retrieval final on Friday. Then, on Sunday, I go to a hardcore show with a bunch of friends!!!!!!!!! =)
