Snowboarding!!!
I went snowboarding at Tahoe Saturday!!! woohoo!!! It was also great because I also got to see/touch snow! =) It wasn't the best snow to play with, but it was better than nothing. The weather there was pretty nice, probably a bit warmer than desired. It was probably in the 40ies or so. There was fog over the entire lake, and some of the mountains, so half the time I was in the fog, and half the time I was above it. Looking down at the fog was really cool, and I have some pictures of it. I started off the day pretty crappy, falling and losing control on easy green slopes. However, I boarded with a couple of people who were all better than me, so I had to follow them to blue slopes. I was kinda afraid of my first blue slope ( because I sucked so much at the greens), but it went pretty well! I even finished off the run on a black part because the crafty kids I was following turned onto a black one without me knowing. =) For the rest of the day, I stayed with the same group, and we ended up doing tons more blues and some more blacks. I still had major wipeouts(messing up my ankle on most of them), but I think it was a very successful day of boarding. I also did some "tricks". There was this tabletop at the bottom of one of the hills, and I actually got on it, slid all the way across, and landed it! Also, on one of the black slopes, there were some jumps set up. The first time through, I went REALLY slow and landed the jump. But the second time, I wanted to go faster and higher. Since I'm retarded, I went way too fast, and landed on my face! =) I have my faceplant on video, but I'm currently trying to get it to a smaller file size. Luckily, I didn't actually get hurt on that fall, just a slight busted lip. I thought landing on my face would have damaged me more. =)
On Sunday, I woke up really late, probably getting about 11-12 hours of sleep. =) This was because I was exhausted from getting only 4.5 hours of sleep Friday night, and snowboarding all Saturday. I also started and finished my compiler project. It was pretty easy. =) Again, since I'm retarded, I played some IM basketball Sunday night, even though my ankle doesn't feel too good. I didn't actually hurt it anymore, but I played crappy and we lost. Man, I really need to stop taking risks with my injuries. Too bad I probably won't. =)

lots of stuff...
Yay for 3 day weekends! Although, actually, this was a 4 day weekend because I always have Fridays off. =) I did a lot of stuff this weekend, starting with joining the golf club on Saturday. It is $15 a quarter for 2 driving range sessions a week and other golf activities, which is really good for me because I will be able to learn the game by practicing at the range every week. I hit a bunch of balls that day, and I already feel like I am a little more consistent with my stroke. I know I have a LONG way to go, but I think I have a good start by joining the club. I also signed up for IM basketball this quarter. This time we are in division 2, so our team will be more level with the competition, as opposed to our team being in division 1 for touch football. I haven't played basketball in a long time so it should be fun to get back into it.
On Sunday, I went to San Francisco with some friends. We left at 9, so the day got started pretty early. We ate some dim sum in chinatown, and then walked all the way to the piers. We tried getting onto one of those cable cars, but every single one that passed us was packed, so we decided to just walk. We got onto one of those boat tours of the bay, and the 1 hour trip went under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz. I took a bunch of random pictures from the boat. I know, there are a lot of stupid pictures of birds. They were closely following the boat the whole time so I kept taking pictures of them. It was kind of hard to get the camera to focus on them... Luckily, it was a really nice day and there was no fog, so I could everything. We also went to the aquarium, because it was part of the package for the bay cruise. There were lots of crazy fish and sharks and Nemo! =) We also went to Ghirardelli Square and ate ice cream and free chocolate. I ate some cheap bread bowl clam chowder, and got to ride a cable car back to chinatown. Hanging onto the moving cable car was pretty cool, but my hands were pretty cold by the end of the ride. We went to a comedy club called Punchline. It was a really good deal: $7.50 cover charge with a minimum of 2 drinks. It was a night of local comics. There were a bunch of comedians (around 10), and they each did a 10-15 minute set. It was really cool, because it was just non-stop, rapid fire jokes from all these funny guys. There were a couple of bad ones, but since the sets were short, they were gone quickly. A lot of them were really good, so most of the 2 hours and 45 minutes were spent laughing! =) I decided to try out a new drink so I got a vodka tonic with grey goose. I'm sure it was because of the quality vodka, but yeah, I liked it a lot better than gin and tonic. I guess all that hype of the grey goose is true.
This weekend I am going to go snowboarding!! It will be great because snowboarding is fun, but also there will be snow!! I miss a lot of things about Cornell, and snow is one of them. Something is just not right about having no snow in January. Although it is nice to be able to play tennis so soon! I've already played 2 times in 2005! woohoo!!! =)

Resurrected Quotes!
My grades were good last quarter, but this quarter will be the real test of grad school. I didn't find out til late, but apparently Stanford grades come out the Tuesday after finals are over. That's a pleasant change from the weeks it takes Cornell to post them. I really like my schedule this quarter, since I have no classes on Friday, all my days start at 11, and on MW I'm done after lunch. =)
Matt asked me for the old-school quote board of Unit 3. Luckily, I still had it on my computer. I also put it online. Man, those were good quotes... =) I only wish I had the other quote board from 301 Bryant also... Enjoy the quotes!!!
