The Big Game

I went to UC Berkeley all day today to watch The Big Game between Cal and Stanford. We got crushed as expected, but for a half, we were "in" the game with the score 3-10 at halftime. Our offense was pretty pathetic, and the defense probably did all it could do. I think we had a first down within 10 yards twice and all we got were 2 field goals. Also, there were many penalties and personal fouls. On one of our punts, our coverage guy tackled the returner before the ball even hit the ground. (something Chris loved to do in NFL Fever, hehehe) Even though the score was ugly, it was still an entertaining football game. Also, the Cal fans weren't as abusive as I thought they would be. Maybe it would have been a different experience if we had won. Then, it probably wouldn't have been too safe being a Stanford fan in Berkeley, hehehe...

Well, now that the football season is over, I might be able to get some work done on Saturdays... O wait... I don't have that much work to do this quarter... =) Actually, I do have to build a compiler tomorrow... Doesn't that sound fun?

Done With Tests! (for 3 weeks...)

Yay! I'm done with midterms! And I'm pretty sure there were daisies in that test. It doesn't matter too much because that class weights the better of the 2 midterms a lot more than the worse of the 2. The quarter system is pretty weird. Finals end in less than a month.

Today was the first day I met with my advisor. He has been out of town constantly and this is the first time he has been back for an extended amount of time. He is a graphics guy, which is pretty cool, because I want to take his advanced ray-tracing class. It looks really hard, but I'm sure I will learn a lot and be able to make really cool images... I need a new background, right? =) I also got a bunch of classes waived so I don't have to take the intro classes again. He was really cool about, because I have heard some horror stories where the advisor would ask you questions about the classes you want to waive.

I got my distortion pedal last week and it has been pretty fun playing with it. I don't play it too loud because I don't want to annoy too many people. I have realized that a lot of hardcore songs are really fast and hard to play. They can do really difficult things with the guitar and distortion. O well, I just gotta keep playing!

I'm gonna try to update this thing more, with my boring, uneventful life...

Remind me to not use my left arm.

Pain!

Remember that old school game dodgeball you played in elementary school? Well, I get to play it again here as an intramural sport. It's pretty fun to pummel people with balls... =) It's kinda hard to catch the balls so my only weapon is to throw, which I'm pretty decent at. The only problem with dodgeball is that after I throw, there is always this intense pain in my arm. =( I just throw too hard. And I don't seem to learn from my mistakes and I keep throwing hard. The pain goes away in a couple of hours... It's probably bad that I keep trying to use my arm right? =) I guess it also doesn't help that I played qb yesterday. IM touch football is so hard! Every single team we have played has been from the Graduate School of Business. Apparently, there must be some kind of acceptance requirement for the business school that only lets in people over 6 feet tall, over 200 pounds, really strong and really fast. We are just "normal" sized people, but every week we have to play against teams that are way to big, fast, and strong for us. Well, we did win one game, but that was still a hard fought one. It came down to our defense preventing the last extra point in OT. It's hard playing qb... Man, I really have to stop using my left arm, before it falls off or something...

Well, I gotta go study for my last midterm...
