Colorado to Cardio
Last weekend (February 22 - 25) I went to Winter Park, CO for ski trip with 5 other Stanford MSCS buddies. It was pretty much great!! =) It was cold, snowing, and I didn't get (too) hurt!! The first day of snowboarding was really warm, probably like 40's. It started snowing a little towards the end of that day, which was great, because I really missed seeing falling snow... The second day was really really cold!! At the top of the mountain (around 11000 feet above sea level) it was like 5 degrees, with 30 mph winds!! =) It was sooooo cold, but I kinda wanted that, because I haven't been in really cold weather since Cornell. (I heard Cornell shut down because of snow this year!!) It was a great trip, and all of our travels went pretty smoothly, despite the potential for disaster. Although, I WAS really confused when I tried to drive the automatic SUV. I didn't know what to do to start making it move!! =)
We got some pictures and videos, but I haven't put them up yet, because I'm lazy. Very, very lazy... =)
As for my workouts, since there is only 1 more month left in the quarter, there is only 1 more month left of cardio... I really hate doing cardio, and I still do, after 2 months of it. However, I am seeing the benefits of it. I really think my heart is getting stronger. It takes a lot more effort for it to get to a higher bpm. I just do some moderate cardio for 30 minutes, and I can't get my heart rate as high as I used to. Just today, I struggled to get it to 150, but after the 5 minute cooldown period, it fell to 100. I think that's pretty cool, and something I probably couldn't have done in the past. Still, I will be very glad when this quarter is over. I think my next workout endeavor will be to do HIIT again... =)

HIIT! I've done it a couple times recently, but the track at my gym is so small I end up sprinting around fairly tight corners. It's probably an ankle sprain just waiting to happen...
